Buddha Cafe

Walk out of the space along stone paths and gardens, to our yummy Buddha cafe.
A place to deepen community over delicious, high-quality, locally sourced, nutritious meals with views of the mountains, volcanoes, and Lake Atitlan.

We grow over 30 food items seasonally and organically. For your retreat, we offer three varied nutritious vegetarian meals per day. Herbal tea (from our garden!) and purified drinking water are available throughout the day. Fresh coffee (also from our grounds!) is available with breakfast. Home brewed Kombucha, superfood smoothies, bliss balls (made with pure local Mayan cacao), and choco-banana muffins are available for sale throughout the day.

All of the meals are nutritious, homemade, well balanced with quality ingredients, mostly organic, and locally-sourced.

Doron Hanoch – the founder of the Center –  trained as a holistic chef at The Natural Gourmet in New York City, and has guided our kitchen in developing meals that are sustainable and nutritious as well as super delicious.

Accommodation

All of our accommodations at Doron Yoga & Zen Center were built with care by local Tzununa craftspeople and constructed with ecological practices in mind. Rustic and charming, rooms have either a jungle, garden, or lake view; they are decorated with murals, local art and textiles.

The property offers three types of accommodation: private rooms with en-suite bathrooms, private rooms with shared bathrooms, and dormitory rooms with shared bathrooms. All bathrooms have hot showers with either gas or solar heated water and western toilets (eco treatment). We source water from a spring supplied by the municipality as well as river water that runs through the property.

Our rooms are priced a-la-carte. Therefore, you can make your reservation by selecting which rooms you’d like to purchase for your group. If you want to find out more about the different room options, check out our accommodations.
