Come celebrate the joy of yoga, dance, delicious food sourced from nutritious local ingredients, and new friendships at the DYZC for our New Year’s Rejuvenation Yoga Retreat! This week is all about celebration and pausing to give yourself the time and space to contemplate your year ahead in a tranquil setting.
Tzununa, Lake Atitlan – Guatemala
Our lush and peaceful hundred sixty square meter centre is located in the quiet Mayan village of Tzununa. Only minutes from the lake, the DZYC awaits your yoga practice and dancing feet. Our newly completed Zendo Yoga Shala practice space sits elevated alongside the Tzununa River, providing us with inspiring sounds and views of the magnificent Tzununa valley, Lake Atitlan and both the Fuego and Atitlan Volcanoes.
The Doron Yoga Method is Ashtanga Vinyasa based with a touch of Zen. The classes are geared to all levels, from beginners to ninjas. Beginners will always have an option to work on the basics to build strength and flexibility, while the advanced student will receive options to work on fancy poses. For a taste of your yoga retreat classes, follow a class or instructional video on the Doron Yoga YouTube channel.

Our days begin with meditation and pranayama (breathing exercises) and yoga.
This retreat will also include afternoon sessions of yin yoga, Dr. Asana, an Osho Kundalini meditation, Yoga and Zen discussion (Q&A), and Jane Fonda-inspired yoga. We structure our days flexibly so that you will also have ample free time to enjoy the gardens, the river or explore the nearby Mayan villages and activities around Lake Atitlan.
The retreat starts with an opening circle at 5pm, followed by dinner on the 26th and ends after breakfast on the 2nd. On New Year’s Eve, we will host an awesome Zen Dance Gathering! We’ll enjoy a fire night with marshmallows – yes, we are flexitarians and eat some bad stuff sometimes. The love we share at this celebratory time is worth boundless amounts of good health!
