The journey is part of the process.
Check-in is until 6pm. Please make sure you give yourself enough time to arrive by 6pm. If your flight lands in Guatemala City after 2pm, please consider spending the night in Guatemala City or Antigua and traveling to the Center in the morning.
To get to Doron Yoga from La Aurora International Airport (GUA) or Antigua please do the following:
- Book your flight to arrive at La Aurora International Airport (GUA).
Take a public shuttle or private car to the town of Panajachel at Lake Atitlan. - From Panajachel, arrive at Tzununa (our village) by taking the boat (lancha) in the direction of San Marcos (Tzununa is one stop before San Marcos). You can take a boat from San Marcos or San Pedro as well (the last boat is at 5:30pm)
- In Tzununa, take a tuk-tuk from the dock to Doron Yoga – tuk-tuk drivers know where we are. Note that if you are arriving at night tuk-tuks will likely not be available.
SHUTTLE OPTIONS
The Doron Yoga & Zen Center works with local travel agencies/shuttle companies to help provide you transportation from the airport and to other major centers of tourism in Guatemala. Shuttles run to and from the nearby town of Panajachel. We offer help with arranging private shuttles. Shared shuttles are also available and can be found online. Shuttles can pick you up from addresses in zones 1, 9, 10 and 13 and the airport.
We also help with private shuttles from Antigua.
PRIVATE SHUTTLES
Private shuttles can be arranged at any time, and are a total of $125 USD one way. If arriving in the evening, please also be prepared to book a private boat from Panajachel.

PRIVATE BOAT
Don’t want to wait for public boat? Don’t want to stop on the way in other villages sometimes waiting for the boat to fill up?
Let us arrange a private boat for you for a spectacular experience. The taxi driver will coordinate your pickup with the boat man, and you will enjoy a smooth private boat ride directly from Panajachel to Tzununa (available on the return as well).

TRANSPORTATION FROM PANAJACHEL
Both the private and the shared shuttles will drop you off in the nearby city of Panajachel. The shuttles go to the local dock. From there, you will need to take a boat to the town where the center is located.
The public boats around the lake are very easy to navigate, even without Spanish. In addition, they offer a beautiful view of the surrounding area/towns. When you arrive at the docks, there will be people asking where you are going. Simply tell them “Tzununa” This will be the stop before San Marcos.
Public boats are paid for in Quetzales. Other currencies are typically not accepted.
IF YOU ARRIVE AT THE LAKE AT NIGHT (NOT RECOMMENDED)
Public boats stop running in the evening hours (usually 6pm). If you are arriving later than this, you may have to pay for a private boat to the center. We can help you arrange this if needed, though it is best to book as early as possible. If it seems like you are going to arrive after the public boats, please let us know. Recall check-in is until 6pm in case of emergency we will be around until 8pm.
Taking a Tuk-Tuk
When you arrive at the dock in Tzununa, there will be tuk-tuk drivers waiting. Usually they will be eager to ask you “taxi?”. All of the tuk-tuk drivers in Tzununa know where Doron Yoga is located. If you take a private boat at night, we can arrange for one to pick you up at the dock.
Tuk-tuks to the center from the dock typically cost 10-15 Quetzales. Only local currency will be accepted.
