Doron Yoga’s mission extends to our local community and our beautiful natural surroundings. Located in a small, rural Mayan village, we are mindful of both our environmental as well as our social impact. We pride ourselves on supporting the local economy by purchasing locally grown and seasonal ingredients, reducing our waste production and promoting a mindset of sustainable living in the community. 

About the author

Doron loves growing food, cooking and eating. He studied cooking at The Natural Gourmet Institute for Health and the Culinary Arts in New York City. He complimented cooking with becoming a Holistic nutrition consultant from The Global College of Natural Medicine and studies permaculture at the Occidental Center for the Arts in Sonoma, CA. He worked for Pure Foods and Wine in New York City, volunteered in the kitchens of many Ashrams and Zen centers as well as worked as a cook and chef at Esalen Institute in Big Sur, CA. He is the author of The Yoga Lifestyle (Llewellyn 2016) 

A year at Montalvo Arts Center as the resident chef allowed him to jumpstart this cookbook. He taught cooking workshops and retreats blended with yoga and nutrition, which eventually led him to become the founder and CEO of the Doron Yoga & Zen Center: A retreat center dedicated to the development of the human potential, through food, nutrition, yoga, Zen, dance and the healing arts.
