LOCATION
Guatemala is easily accessible from both Europe and the US. Many inexpensive flights arrive directly from many cities in the US. We have road access, parking and are a 10-minute walk from the lake and the public dock.
Lake Atitlan is known as a center for healing and health, spirituality and permaculture. It is one of the top most beautiful lakes worldwide, and considered to have unique energy fields.
Maybe most important is that it is spring weather year-round. The sun shines all year, and it is comfortable year-round. They call it the land of eternal spring.

ACCOMMODATION
All of our accommodations are new construction and built with ecological and permaculture practices in mind. They are decorated with original murals, art and textiles. From comfortable garden-enclosed shared rooms to airy, lake view suites, the accommodation here is eco-friendly and designed for utter relaxation.
The retreat center offers three types of rooms: private rooms with ensuite bathrooms, private rooms with shared bathrooms, and dormitory rooms with shared bathrooms. Most bathrooms have solar systems, and some are gas heated. We created massive septic tanks, with food forest to allow clients to have flush toilettes while still keeping eco and sustainability in mind.

BUDDHA CAFÉ / KITCHEN / SHOP
A large deck with a cozy feel, great views, high roof, and partial wooden walls. Bamboo pillars. A sitting area with avocado wood table, buffet table, drinks table, 3 low tables with handmade local cushions, and tall large wooden table.
Our extra-large Kitchen features concrete counter tops, 2 sinks, a large wooden island with shelves underneath, a refrigerator with freezer, a large stand-alone freezer, shelves and all accessories needed. It is very spacious and comfortable to work in. It was built extra-large to be able to hold cooking classes and workshops in it. Apart from our gas stove, we have 2 natural wooden stoves – one hot plate and one pizza oven. There is also a closed storage space: KITCHEN BODEGA, that holds a large supply of pantry food and back up items.

mEETING hALLS
The Dharma Hall – Main meeting space. 180 sqm of bliss. Stunning lake and volcano views, super high ceiling, floor to ceiling windows, river side, and bamboo structure. Visitors say, pictures do not do it justice. Stone paths from both sides with gardens along the way, and beautiful handmade oversized designed doors.
The A frame has Italian style metal roof on top, with sound proofing and weather control thick liner underneath, covered with bamboo sheets to match the beauty of the rest of this Zen style temple
3 large speakers with a mixer and microphones are available to convert the space into a concert or dance hall.
A circular stone front wall supports the building. Concrete pillars and foundation support the cypress floor of the floating dance floor of the main meeting hall. 180 sqm of bliss. GROUNDS AND GARDENS
Lots of grounds, gardens and beautiful stone paths, allow the houses to blend nicely with nature. Set in the lush valley of Tzununa, with a river that flows all year round, the DYZC was built with permaculture principles and sustainability in mind.

All water systems are sustainable. We process all our black water in our eco septic tanks that convert them to grey water. We then run this water through natural gravel filters and finally through an intricate system of underwater drip system, it is spread through our food forest, where it supports the growth of our trees.
We have a mini farm with many trees, and over 35 varieties of herbs and vegetables that rotate in our gardens, as well as chicken and ducks. The duck pond gets water from the river that flows though the land, and later flows into the garden. Our gardens are close to the kitchen and all around the property making it easy to access, maintain and harvest. We serve herbal tea, always from our garden, and the coffee we grow and process 100% by hand on our land. (plenty of it).
The paths that flow through the retreat center are made of local stone from our grounds. One walks through the coffee trees, bananas, chamomile flowers, taro root plants, variety of herbs, edible plants and as many native plants as possible. We discovered many healthy and beautiful herbs and greens, unique to our place, and we have learned to utilize them in our kitchen. We build our structures around the existing trees, and cactuses, trying to fit with nature, rather than impose on nature.

We used as much local materials in our rooms and decorations; our bed covers are locally made, and our curtains are made from traditional fabrics used to make local clothes. Artists from around the world painted stunning murals. Room walls host original art pieces, some from local artisans; and some from Doron’s collection, including art that was exhibited in shows in New York, California and Israel.
LUXURY VILLA
A new luxury resident for the owners. It is a 2-story high ceiling, spacious villa, with plenty of grounds in front and in the back. This is on the other side of the river, so just a few steps over our bridge to the Buddha café, main entrance or Dharma hall. This is built to high standards, and would add great value to the property. It has a large piece of land with stunning views and plenty gardens. It is fenced.

A one story, bamboo floating house. 3 room structure, private bathroom for each room. Showers made with slate stone. Hot water provided by instant gas heater. Beds have orthopedic mattresses. Charming and quint.
It has a wide wooden deck along all rooms, with a hammock for each room. Lawn to the front and side with a food forest below. Lots of garden and lush green view with partial views of mountains and lake.
A large, 3 story building, built sturdy from concrete, block and stone.
Building has strong foundations with a reinforced stone back wall. Building has clean white walls with lots of art, showers with local slate and beautiful views. Mix this elegance with some large wooden logs and some river cane to get a unique house that mixes strength, elegance with country style. Clean with warmth. Sprinkle the color of the local fabrics on the beds and curtains and you get a very unique room that is art in itself.
All rooms have a wide wooden balcony in front with hammocks and wooden seats.
The third floor has a large meeting space with stunning view. It is about 150sqm, and has a toilette and a sink. Wooden walls decorated with original Tibetan fabrics, a little altar and yoga props. Front side is open and faces avocado trees, the lake, mountains and volcanoes.

Feliz 3 is a shared room on the second floor. It has a small deck outside, a large shoe rack, night stands for all beds, shelves, hooks and original art.
3 toilettes, 2 sinks, 2 showers. All separate to maximize usage. Spacious with indoor / outdoor feel. Lots of stone and logs, wall paintings. Clean rustic look.
3 rooms under the Dharma Hall (main meeting space). Simple with a huge open chillout space with view in front of them. We use them mostly for staff or group leaders.
Stone structure base with wooden logs on top. It hosts high ceilings, an open kitchen design, and plenty windows. Cypress wood for window frames.
It has an oversized bathroom with a stone shower, plenty shelves, a concrete counter top, and some of the bathroom walls are made of river cane with a transparent roof – giving it a natural indoor / outdoor feel. Stone wall as base.
It has huge windows on most walls, with jungle views. Back of house is reinforced with stone for extra protection.
