About the Cafe

Our Buddha Cafe is a wonderful meeting point, where we eat our community meals here at Doron Yoga & Zen Center. Whether you are here for a retreat, a yoga class, or are simply passing through, you can join us for delicious vegetarian food and great company. This outdoor deck dining space overlooks the lake; it is surrounded by the lush landscape and has a variety of seating (and hammock!) options. Travelers meet to share stories, experiences, a cup of tea, and so much more. Rest, connect with new friends, and enjoy delicious food and snacks with the beautiful views of Lake Atitlan.

Our nutritious vegetarian meals are served buffet-style three times daily (if there are less than 5 guests we do plate the meals instead of buffet). Guests visiting for one of our scheduled retreats will already have all three meals included. Those joining us for a personal retreat have already paid for breakfast and dinner as part of their package, and can choose to join us for lunch for an added price of 80Q.
You are welcome to join us for a meal even if you’re not staying on the property! The price for a drop-in breakfast is 60Q, lunch / dinner is 80Q and includes a delicious meal and drinks – such as water (all day) tea & coffee (breakfast) or juice ( lunch only), herbal tea (dinner).

We can accommodate vegan and gluten-free dietary restrictions with advanced notification. Please let us know in advance, if you want to join us for meals. You can email us or send a WhatsApp message to +502-4920-5729.

Mindful Gardening at DYZC

Our food Philosophy

Our founder, Doron Hanoch, has training as a holistic chef, and brings his nutritional wisdom into every dish we serve here at DYZC. Every meal is made with seasonal, local ingredients, fresh veggies, and herbal teas. Much of the food on our plates grows right here in our own sustainable gardens. Every meal is full of special touches that elevate it in terms of nutrition. Our oatmeal, for example, is packed full of chia seeds, flax seeds, coconut, and other super foods. We grow our own coffee, bananas, avocados, lettuce, a variety of herbs and many other fruits and vegetables. When possible, add-ons like our peanut butter, jam, and lightly fermented sauerkraut are all homemade on site by our dedicated kitchen staff. It’s a heaven for health-conscious foodies.
