From Finland to Guatemala: A Graduate’s Story
Teacher Training – A Graduate’s Story
Anni has been part of the DYZC family since completing her 200-hr teacher training with Doron in Nepal in 2017. Last winter, she joined us here at Doron Yoga & Zen Center in Guatemala to complete her advanced 300-hr certification as part of our 300-hr teacher training internship program.
While staying with us here, Anni truly became a part of the Doron Yoga Team. Apart from teaching and assisting in yoga, she also assisted in our social media, blog projects, and daily operations. Her devoted karma yoga work is reflective of her many talents and of her personality as both a true leader and delightful team player.
Now teaching Doron Yoga in Finland, Anni speaks a bit about her experience with us, and about Doron as a teacher, in the video below.
Reflections on Teacher Training
300-hr Teacher Training Internship, Guatemala
In addition to our 300-hr, 3-week intensive course, we also have an opportunity for those looking to deepen their practice to come and earn their advance certification in an internship program. The 300-hr internship involves 3-6 months of living, working, and studying with us here at DYZC Guatemala. During this time, you will be able to practice yoga daily. You will also be able to eat a holistic vegetarian diet and live in an intentional yoga community.
In addition, the internship also includes the opportunity to assist on a 200-hr program. You will learn a bit about the back-end of running a teacher training, and help assist Doron during the program.
Yoga Thesis
Both the 3-week intensive and the internship version of our 300-hr training include a yoga thesis. This is an opportunity for the trainee to explore any yoga topic of their choice. Topics can include yoga philosophy, yoga humanities, anatomy, physical benefits of asana, etc. Anni chose to complete her on Life, Death, and Rebirth in different Eastern philosophies.
