Good and healthy hands-on adjustments can take a yoga class to a totally new level! This video will guide you through how to give best hands on adjustments (assists) for the pigeon pose – preparation for ekapada raj kapotasana. So in other words, shows it in a way that is safe, helpful and efficient for the student, deepens the stretch and yet feels good.

Pigeon pose is an accessible, efficient and wonderful hip opener that can be held for a long time. There is not much need for help in this pose technically, as gravity and body weight do the work. However, some assists can help to improve alignment and efficiency of the pose as well as simple feel amazing. Hands on in pigeon pose can take the student deeper and help bring them back to the present moment.

Touch in yoga asana is very important and serves many functions. Make sure you are present with your touch and the students reaction. This is a moment of sharing love and showing you care.
