How to do the Side Crow – Parsva Bakasana

Parsva Bakasana – Side Crow

In this video Doron demonstrates side crow pose; it is similar to crow pose, but slightly more challenging as it involves a twist. This video shows a step-by-step demonstration of how to enter parsva bakasana, including how to correct for common errors in setting up for the pose.

How to get into side crow

      • Come into a squat pose, as if you were to do normal crow pose.
      • Turn your feet to face the side so that your legs are parallel to the short side of the mat.
      • Place your hands in front of the mat
      • See that your front knee is leaning towards the upper arm, close to the armpit.
      • Rotate the elbows closer to each others and lower the hip to the other upper arm.
      • Keep the head and chest reaching forward as you shift the weight for your arms.
