Lauren AnasYoga Teachers Lauren Anas

Lauren is a Doron Yoga Teacher at the Yoga Alliance 500 hour level. Her love for movement began at a young age, eventually being trained as a classical ballet dancer. She found yoga in college as a way to keep the body healthy, strong and flexible.  She quickly recognized the benefits yoga has on all aspects of life, not just the body. Also as a means to transform the way we behave in our every day activities and relationships.

She has studied with a variety of renowned teachers including Ben Thomas, Richard Freeman, Max Strom. Her studies continue with her most prominent teacher, Doron Hanoch. She recently assisted both Doron Yoga Teacher Trainings in 2012 and 2013.

Sarah Sykes

Yoga Teachers Sarah SykesThe second of our yoga teachers, Sarah started practicing yoga in 1992 while she was in college. As an athlete who enjoys swimming, cycling and hiking regularly, Sarah first loved the physically challenging aspects of yoga. However she has found that a focus on the breath and slow, conscious movement has allowed for much greater awareness. Also experiencing a deeper sense of balance and stability. She finds moments of real peace and tranquility through her practice, and has come to appreciate the absolute magic of a quiet mind.  She completed her 200-hour Ashtanga-vinyasa teacher training with Bay Area teacher Doron Hanoch. Currently, she is a student of Sarah Powers’ Insight Yoga Institute working towards her 500-hour certification.

Fascinated with the intersections of life, Sarah is especially interested in discovering more about those places where seemingly divergent paths cross. She finds yoga to provide a perfect vehicle for this discovery. Sarah’s classes combine a physically challenging practice with conscious attention on the breath. Her focus is also on alignment, and the subtle flow of energy in and around us. It is her goal that everyone leaves class a little taller, lighter and happier than when they arrived.   www.sarahsykes.com

Annetta McCarty (RYT 500)

Yoga Teachers Annetta McCarty After quite some years away from the ballet barre, Annetta began practicing yoga in 1999. The idea was that it would help her get back into ballet worthy conditioning. Little did she know practicing yoga would be the beginning of a transformational journey of mind, body and spirit. It ultimately became her greatest passion.

Initially a student of Bikram Yoga, Annetta’s curiosity lead her to practice a variety of different styles of yoga.

Annetta completed her 200-hour Ashtanga Vinyasa teacher training with Bay Area teacher Doron Hanoch. Her 500-hour teacher training with YogaWorks San Francisco was a combination Ashtanga & Iyengar training. It included a six month mentorship with Melanie Salvatore-August and a six month professional workshop series.

Annetta’s goal as a teacher is to perceive and teach what her students need. Her classes are fun, thoughtfully sequenced and well balanced. There is an emphasis on alignment to encourage students to develop a safe, sustainable practice. Annetta’s intention is to be of service to her fellows. Helping all beings find more peace, happiness and freedom. To Annetta, yoga is health, balance and a wonderful means of connecting more fully to her higher self and the divine.

Prior to her life as a yoga studio manager and instructor, Annetta enjoyed working as a freelance makeup artist, licensed esthetician and cosmetic spa/boutique manager.
